The No Messing About Story

This didn't start as a food brand. It started with our family trying to find answers.

For most of my life, food and I haven't had an easy relationship.

I lived with food intolerances, constipation and digestive discomfort for around 40 years. I went to doctors, searched for answers and tried to understand why something as basic as eating could leave me feeling so uncomfortable.

When the answers didn't come easily, I started learning for myself.

Then digestive health became an even bigger part of our family's life. Colin's son lives with Crohn's disease, and Colin developed diverticular disease. After suffering a perforated bowel, we came frighteningly close to losing him.

Food suddenly mattered to us in a whole new way.

I spent years reading, researching and learning about ingredients, digestion, protein, fibre and the way different foods worked for me.

And eventually I discovered something surprisingly simple that made an enormous difference in my own experience:

Fibre wasn't just about getting more. For me, it was about finding the right balance of soluble and insoluble fibre.

After decades of struggling, that understanding changed the way I approached food.

But the more I learnt, the more frustrated I became with how complicated eating well had become. There seemed to be a pill, powder, supplement, rule or new diet for everything.

I kept coming back to one question:

Why can't we put more of what we're looking for back into real food?

That's where No Messing About began.

Real food made with real ingredients. Thoughtfully bringing together things like balanced fibres, protein, bone broth, ginger and turmeric — in food people actually want to eat.

No miracle promises. No pretending food can cure everything. And no telling people there's only one right way to eat.

Just taking what we've learnt through years of very real experience and putting it into better everyday food.

Because sometimes the answer doesn't need to be another pill. Sometimes it can start with what's on your plate.

No Messing About. Real Food. Real Ingredients.
